Why I trust KATADYN POCKET water filter for survival

I bought the KATADYN POCKET water filter in July-2021 to use when I go backpack hiking & camping in the State Forest. I did online research on all the popular water filters & purifiers available. The products I researched included squeeze water bottles/bags, straw suction filters, plastic-based (top down & sideways) hand-pump filters, gravity feed filters, hand-press filter bottles, UV-C light pen purifiers. My selection criteria is for a filter that is well engineered in design & uses strong durable materials. I require a system that can filter a volume of water into a water container rather than have to suck by straw directly from the mouth. I do not want a system that requires to be backwash flushed with clean filtered water - using a syringe - as it mean I would have to always keep an adequate volume of filtered water just for backwashing. Backwash flush systems usually need a plastic syringe - which can be lost or easily damaged. I want a system that can filter a quantity of water into a container to enable ease of sharing water with others. I do not want a system whose majority components are made of plastic - hence vulnerable to accidental breakages. I do not want a system with a filter cartridge that has a low volume filtering lifecycle before the filter becomes blocked. I am willing to accept the trade-off carrying extra weight in order to...
