Very fast comparison video on these two cheap amps. I&had the Kinter for a few years, always loved the sound, but found out about the Lepai, and thought I&give it a try. The Lepai is about 50% louder and a much better sounding amp, though it distorts noticeably at about half the volume (10% or more THD). The Kinter sounds biased in the mid in comparison, but won&distort as noticeably at full blast. Still, the Lepai is a hair louder at the point where there&acceptable levels of distortion, while having a much more pleasant loudness contour across the frequency spectrum. Also the Kinter is quite noisy, even with the volume all the way down, you&going to hear some induction noise, which will bother you at close range. The Lepai is by far, the higher quality amp. I spent about $17 to pair the Kinter up with a 12v 2.0A DC power adapter (barrel size is 5.5mm x 2.1mm), but found the Lepai with the power supply (13.5v 3A, same barrel size) for $23, so that&a $5 spread. IMHO the Lepai is well worth the extra $5, don&skimp, you won®ret it. I&using about 6&per speaker cable 16 awg. I&used the Kinter for years on 22 awg without any problems for computer desk sound, but if you wanna crank it, use 16 gauge. I just learned that Lepai also changed their name to Lvpin, so if you see them on the market, apparently those are the same amps. I used a pair of Phonic SE-206, outdoor speakers which comes with a mounting yoke / bracket. Obviously, there&hardly any sub bass, you can...
