Inkscape tutorial: 2D Background for Platform or Running Game

In this video we learn how to design a nice simple 2d background that is suitable for a platform or running game. The process is simple but it gives you an idea of compositing different designs such as clouds, mountains, trees, .... to make a background. About Inkscape: Inkscape is a free and open-source vector graphics editor. This software can be used to create or edit vector graphics such as illustrations, diagrams, line arts, charts, logos and complex paintings. Inkscape&primary vector graphics format is Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG); however, many other formats can be imported and exported. It is similar to Adobe Illustrator with almost same capabilities. Important Shortcuts: Shift+Ctrl+F : Fill and Stroke Shift+Ctrl+A : Align and Distribute Shift+Ctrl+E : Export to PNG Ctrl+mouse wheel : zoom in or out Shift+click : set Stroke color on "Palette" Ctrl+D : duplicate selection Shift+click : toggle selection Alt+click : select under Shift+mouse drag : add objects to selection Ctrl+mouse drag : scale preserving aspect ratio Backspace, Del : delete selected node(s) "Node tool" #inkscape
