Does your B7 Audi A4 lack power all of the sudden? Watch this video, it is a very common thing for these "Turbocharger Recirculation Valve N249" or also called "Diverter Valves" to brake and store the code "P0299". In this video I&give you a clear explanation on how to replace the diverter valve and also how to diagnose the diverter / recirculation valve on you B7 Audi A4 2.0T. This customer complained about a lack of power, especially at highway speeds. The Audi would not pull as hard as it used to, he said. Since the engine seem to run fine otherwise, I assumed it must have something to do with the turbo. Since the check engine light was on, I first plugged in my scan tool to check for codes. There was a bunch of codes, but I was most interested in the the P0299 code, assuming that all the other codes must be related to that one. Just typing this "Audi A4 2.0T P0299" in the internet let me know that this is a very common issue and that there also was a service bulletin released by Audi stating that the Turbocharger Recirculation Valve N249 is a very common issue. The diaphragm tears in it. After replacing the Turbocharger Recirculation Valve N249 / diverter valve, the problem resolved and the Audi drove like an Audi again.
