Straight out of the West Coast, we’ve got a movement that’s been a long time coming. This trio has been together and working for over 15 years and produced a track that made history and changed the way we looked at private plane ownership. These days the group is focused on their identity and re-connecting with their Asian roots. We got a chance to sit down with in Shenzhen while they were in town for Meeting at the Longgang City Centre Crowne Plaza, Radio China DJ Doomkitty sat down with the trio to go through their career, their music, and what’s coming next. From their roots in Los Angeles parking lots to their new label and plans for the future, we got to delve in to plenty of different aspects of the west coast born Far East Movement. They have hip-hop in their DNA, but electronic music and production have quickly become big aspects of their sound. This melding of style and culture has brought Far East Movement into 2017 with an album that combines great music from Asia and America, creating a fusion that reflects the groups diverse range of experience and reach. We got a chance to chat about their biggest hit, Like A G6, and what life is like after creating a major chart topper that made history. The track reaching the top of the Hot 100 made Far East Movement the first Asian-Americans to ever take the top spot and the only Asians to do so in almost 50 years.
