Redkin was born in Astrakhan in 1908 into the family of a seaman. In his youth, he worked at a ship repair factory as a welder. In 1932 he graduated from the Leningrad Film Photography Institute. In 1933 he was called up for military service. Since 1934, he began to take pictures for newspapers. From 1934 to 1941 he worked in the newspaper "Red Star". During the war there was a TASS photo correspondent , as well as the newspaper "Frontline Illustration". After the war, he continued to work in TASS, as well as in the magazine "Soviet Union" in the publishing house "Planet"... He died in 1987
