We captured the whole thing in 5.7K 360, but I decided to try something a bit different for reframing the video. Instead of using the raw video, I went with the low-quality proxy from the Insta360 mobile app for easy gyro reframing. The process was so much simpler than doing it on a computer. Next, I took the proxy quick snap mode exports and put them into Topaz Video AI to upscale them. I used the demotion settings and "enhance to 8K, recovering lots of detail" mode. Even though the results were slightly unnatural in some cases, the video ended up looking really great, sometimes even better than the raw footage! For color grading, I tried something new as well. I used the Melbourne filter on Instagram, which compressed the footage even more, but it still looked fantastic. To be honest, I might use this workflow more often, because reframing footage on a computer can be so difficult and time-consuming.
