FRANSZ SCHUBERT (1797-1828) SYMPHONY Nº 7 in E minor, D. 729 1. Adágio - allegro - 11'35 2. Andante - 7'56 3. Scherzo (Allegro) - 6'00 4. Allegro giusto - 12'29 Recorded: London, 11/1982 The performing versions by Brian Newbould of the six unfinished works included in this set of recordings are conceived with the aim of completing each work as Schubert himself might have done had he returned to his sketches. The completion of the Eight Symphony, the realisation of the Tenth, and the orchestration of the fragments are first recordings. In the notes which follow Professor Newbould traces Schubert&progress as a symphonist from his schooldays till his death at the age of 31.
