I don&use it much as I have so many "superior" synths – but in fact it blew me away. The sound is awesome – top quality – classic – such an easy synth to program & sounds great in a finished mix. The SH-101 is perfect for very nice bass and lead sounds. The internal step-sequencer is pure fun. Andy Whitmore started life as a top session keyboard player playing on over 50 hit records before turning his hand to music production. He went on to produce 14 top ten hits. He is a pro when it comes to synthesizers, and here explores the Roland SH-101 as part of a brand new series. I think the synth sounds very dry, so a bit of reverb is necessary. In this video I used Oxford plug in for reverb. Recorded through Avalon 737 preamp & Fireface UFX Analog to Digital converter.
