This is a video of me flying with Cathay Pacific (國泰航空) from Manchester to Hong Kong on an Airbus A350-900, on my way to my holiday in Kuala Lumpur. A Cathay Pacific flight departs from Manchester just before noon at 11:30 every day, in addition to daily flights from London Gatwick and 5 flights a day from London Heathrow. Since one of the main train operators were on strike on the day, I took an early train and arrived at the Manchester Airport at 07:30. Afterwards, I quickly made my way to Terminal 2 to check in and go through security. As a Marco Polo Club Gold member, I was allowed to use the Fast Track. Cathay uses the Escape Lounge, which is shared with several airlines, holders of Priority Pass, Lounge Key, Diners Club Cards, members of other travel programs and people willing to pay for entry, literally the whole world! The lounge was so full that I was sent to the neighbouring Escape Plus lounge which had more space. I finally treated myself to an English Breakfast buffet. I made my wait to the gate when the boarding announcement was made. I travelled in early November, so I missed the opportunity to fly on Cathay’s new Airbus A350-1000. But still, the Premium Economy is the best there is, with a seat pitch of 40 inches and shiny new equipment. Lunch was served shortly after take off. I drank some orange juice mixed with Bacardi and picked the Chinese style beef tenderloin. After the main course, I had some Movenpick ice cream and marbled chocolate as a dessert....
