Follow these steps to replace the display panel assembly for HP Elite x2 G4 Tablet with Keyboard: - Removal - - Open the kickstand. - Remove the four 3 mm T5 Torx-head screws that secure the display panel assembly to the display enclosure. - Close the kickstand and turn the tablet over. - Using a suction cup, carefully detach the display panel assembly clips from the display enclosure in the following order: - Top-right corner - Top-left corner - Bottom-right corner - Bottom-left corner - Slowly lift the display panel assembly until you have access to the battery connector on the motherboard (approximately 90 degrees). - IMPORTANT: Lifting the panel too far may result in prematurely disconnecting the touch panel cable from the motherboard and damage to the cable and/or connector. - While supporting the display panel assembly, disconnect the battery cable from its connector on the SIM card board. - Remove the tape that covers the touchscreen and display panel ZIF connectors. - Using minimal force, lift the locking bar up on the touchscreen ZIF connector and disconnect the touchscreen ribbon cable from the motherboard. - Using minimal force, lift the locking bar up on the display panel cable ZIF connector and disconnect the display panel ribbon cable from the mother board. - Remove the display panel assembly. - Reverse this procedure to install the display panel assembly.
