Santiago del Teide is in the foothills of the Macizo de Teno mountains, not far from the historic mountain town of Masca. Destroyed in 1706 by a volcanic eruption, visitors can now walk through Garachico&peaceful squares and along its pedestrianised streets near the seafront.
