Removing the instrument panel on the Sprinter: It is removed in one piece together with the instrument carrier. A special consideration on the Sprinter: First empty the air conditioning. Loosen the hose clamp of the intake hose and detach the hose. Disconnect the two connectors and unhook the jump-start connection point. Lift up the air filter housing at the front and remove. The two test and filler connections of the high and low-pressure lines are now accessible. Connect the AC service unit. Wear protective gloves and goggles for safety. Remove the protective caps. Connect the red hose of the AC service unit to the thin high-pressure line. Connect the blue hose to the thicker low-pressure line. The refrigerant can now be extracted. This is necessary when removing the instrument panel because parts of the air conditioning are removed with it. Disconnect the battery ground line. If the vehicle has a roof antenna, remove the entire front headliner. Otherwise, the roof antenna cable and wiring harness are not accessible. Start with the A-pillar trim. Remove the sun visors. Remove the dome lamp with switches. When reinstalling, use new screws and tighten to 5 Nm. Remove the B-pillar trim. Remove the headliner. The roof antenna cable and wiring harness are now exposed.
