Our guest educator/soloist François Pineau-Benois masterfully performed Eugène Ysaÿe&sonata no. 2, which is dedicated to the composer&friend Jacques Thibaud, quoting a prelude by Johann Sebastian Bach and the ancient "dies irae" motif in different variations. This piece is part of an educational concert, which was recorded on Jan. 30, 2022, in Tulindberg Concert Hall at Oulu Music Center after a brief rehearsal period. ▶️ 00:00 – I. Les Furies In addition to his soloist role in the concert, Pineau-Benois also offered a masterclass for the young student violinists playing in Oulunsalo Ensemble. 🎶 Oulunsalo Ensemble is a master-apprentice model orchestra founded and directed by Finnish violin/orchestra educator Sinikka Ala-Leppilampi.
