Mini Ultralight Balsa DLG - Build Walkthrough and MAIDEN FLIGHT!

Hey guys! This video shows a detailed documentation of my latest DLG scratchbuild, including individual component weights, dimensions, and construction methods. I then take the finished product, a 36” span DLG weighing just 50.52 grams, to a large field for its maiden flight. The aircraft flew successfully from its first launch, and performed significantly better than expected, this likely on account of the finely shaped airfoil and seamless join between the wings, fuselage, and vertical stabilizer. Since construction however, the aircraft has encountered some mechanical issues resulting from deterioration and misalignment of the small servos and thin pushrods. This together with the aircraft’s extreme rigidity shows me that my future DLGs could benefit from less structural material and heavier mechanical equipment.
