2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid Review: Less Slow, Still Steady

It turns out that adding 27 horsepower is just what the doctor ordered for the Corolla Cross; the hybrid’s stronger powertrain feels quick enough around town and adequate on the highway. The “sport-tuned” suspension also remains smooth and composed, even on 18-inch wheels. An unchanged interior from the gas-only version is comfortable, especially up front, though there’s room for improvement with materials quality. A strong suit of the Corolla Cross is its standard equipment, and it&no surprise the hybrid isn’t any different. A key drawback, however, is the price, which pushes it into compact SUV prices.
