Manufacturer: Hensoldt, Wetzlar (Germany) Application: Civil (Police) Era: World War 2 Magnification: 10x Objective Lens Size: 50mm Specifics: Rare black colored version of the Dialyt Dienstglas of the German Army in WW2. It is often called the "Tank commander´s binocular" but it was actually also used by other units of the German military. In general it is colored in the yellow "Einheitstarnfarbe Europa" and has the bmj-code (instead of the company name), the symbol for the cold resistant lubricant and the term "Dienstglas" on it. This version lacks all of these markings as well as a reticle. So it might be a civilian version of the military Dienstglas type. Maybe it was used by police units. Anyhow, there are in fact versions of this kind which are in the yellow color of the military - so far, this version could also be a military use. These kind of Dialyt Binoculars (without the lether cover the Dialyt Binoculars usually have) come in a short and a long version. The short version is shown in this video.
