Okay this is very strange. My surface laptop has been having an issue where it does not power on past the Windows logo for whatever reason. I would press the power button as much as I want and it will show the windows logo for a few seconds and then power off. I have no idea why, but I placed a shirt over the bottom side of my surface laptop and ironed it over the bottom of the laptop at the highest heat setting on the iron and when I flipped the laptop open to power it on, the keyboard immediately lit up and booted up. It turns out that applying heat to the laptop will cause it to turn on. Very strange issue. I have no idea how long you can do this for before the laptop eventually gives up. I am thinking it may be a battery issue. If it was a motherboard issue then the laptop wouldn&even show the Windows logo to begin with. I don&know and I could be wrong. If anyone attempts to replace the battery (they sell them on ebay now) and this fixes the issue, let me know. Otherwise it is a motherboard issue. I have already tried replacing the SSD and that did not solve this issue.
