The butt was extended to accept a more capacious magazine and the barrel was lengthened. The recoil spring is placed around the barrel instead of benath it, giving the unique tubular appearance to the slide. The addition of a distinctive extension shroud enabled the standard 1910-type slide to be used with only minor changes. This model was aimed at military and police contracts and many examples were produced for various agencies. The FN Model 1910 was initially designed for the "Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes" (which was renamed Yugoslavia in 1929).
