Although the members of T-ara had previously participated in two songs earlier in the year, Lies was the official debut single released by the group.[1] It was released on July 27, 2009, after several delays and image changes caused by former members Lee Jiae and Yang Jiwon leaving shortly before the group had originally planned to debut.
