Ribbon Microphone Comparison - Se Electronics R1 vs Superlux R102 - Electric Guitar

A short comparison video between the Se Electronics R1 and the Superlux R102 Ribbon Microphones. This time I mic&up my Orange 4x12 and recorded some different guitar tones: 0:00 - Clean Channel 1:05 - Dirty Channel - Crunchy tone 2:40 - Dirty Channel - Heavy Distortion I used my Hagstrom F20T guitar that is equipped with 2 P90 pick ups, For this video I only used the bridge pick up. The amp driving the V30 speakers is an Orange TH30, The EQ on the clean channel was left flat and the shape control on the dirty channel was left at 12 o'clock. I placed both the ribbon microphones on axis, and both directly in front of where the speaker cone meets the dust cap. I also threw up a pair of SM57s on on axis where the cone meets the cap, and one off axis at 45 degrees, pointing in towards the dust cap. This is know as the Fredman Technique. All of the microphones positions were adjusted so that they are all in phase with each other.
