ldd and lddtree

I think we all know about ldd [1] from GNU libc (glibc/glibc2), a tool for shared libraries and ELF, even you may be like me who can only use it to check to see if anything missing and that&about it. lddtree [2] from app-misc/pax-utils was something I already knew of there, because it always got tab-completion alongside ldd, but never once invoked it before. As it has suggested, it outputs a format of a tree. lddtree seems to be like a Gentoo project, so I don&know about its availability or where to download the tarball if you want to use it on other distributions. You would have to figure out on your own, since I only needed to install it with emerge. Try searching "gentoo pax-utils .tar.gz" There is also a script called lddtree.py on the Internet and it looks like part of Chromium from the look of search results, but I am not sure, didn&try to get one. My only experience is looking for "not found" string. Lastly, a parting message for you from ldd(1): "Thus, you should never employ ldd on an untrusted executable, since this may result in the execution of arbitrary code." ---- Written in C, ldd licensed under the LGPLv2.1, lddtree GPLv2 Recorded with ldd 2.17 (2012-12-25), lddtree 1.22 (2013-04-07) from pax-utils-0.7 ----
