Genesis gives the following information on what to do if your Genesis G80 has a dead or broken remote key fob and is showing the message "Key Not Detected" : In case the ignition switch does not change with the push of a button, the key fob may have a dead or depleted battery. In this situation, a back up method can be used to operate the ignition switch. Put the Top of the key fob against the Genesis G80 START/STOP ignition button and push to operate the ignition key switch. The key fob may not be able to be detected by the Genesis G80 key fob system if it is located next to a mobile phone, laptop or other electronic device; these devices may prevent the key fob’s wireless signal from being detected and prevent the system from starting your Genesis G80.
