Sims 2 In The Sims 2, unlike The Sims 1, you can initiate an adoption whenever you like from your phone. the adoption is free of charge, but you have to have at least §3000 to adopt. If your Sim has a memory of a child being taken by the social services, you will be rejected for adoption. If the adoption is approved, a social worker will bring the kid at 10am the next day. upon arrival you can decide if you want to adopt a baby, a toddler, or a child. If you choose a baby and the baby was not taken away from another household, you can name it. The social worker will come in a vehicle, and the baby will sit in the back. When you adopt a toddler, the social worker will take the child in their arms and drop it off on the ground outside the household. If your Sim adopts a child, the child will open the door, wave to the Social Worker and go inside.
