I’ve owned my fair share of amps over the years, and I’ve gotta say...this one is a real gem. A lot of the demos I see for the ‘68s don’t seem all that fair. Most of them, especially when they’re doing a direct A/B with the ‘65 versions, don’t tweak the controls enough to properly dial in a good tone. The ‘68s have A LOT more low end than their ‘65 cousins, and thusly if you want a good, usable, non muffled tone, you’ve gotta back the bass off and up the treble. That’s what I’ve been doing anyway, and it’s working for me. Here’s a bit of blues with my Seymour Duncan Broadcaster loaded Esquire strung with flat wounds. The volume is jusssst below 4, call it like... 3 7/8. The touch sensitivity really starts to show around this point, especially with this guitar. (Also, The vibrato and reverb this thing cranks out? Absolutely delicious...)
