Danelectro DC-3 Electric Guitar Review & Demo After I recently sold one of my two Stratocasters, I found myself searching for a decent replacement single coil equipped guitar. I wanted something different than a regular Strat, however -- something with a little more style, edge, and a unique sound. Enter the Danelectro DC-3. This Korean made reissue guitar has been out of production since the early 2000s and they&getting harder and harder to find. I happened to score this guitar very cheaply on eBay, and I wanted to put it through its paces here today for you guys. Check out how these uniquely wired lipstick single coil pickups sound when played clean. The Danelectro DC-3 comes equipped with Gotoh tuners, an aluminum nut, a scarf jointed 2 piece maple neck, nice slab rosewood fingerboard and 21 medium frets. The action is best set at about medium, because this guitar frets out in a couple of places from high frets. It also features a heel adjust truss rod, meaning you have to take the neck off to adjust it. It isn&that big of a deal, but because the guitar has a Masonite and plywood semi hollow body, I do worry that removing the neck over time to adjust it may strip the screw holes in the body. It also has a nicely done silver sparkle finish with no imperfections, 3 alnico lipstick single coils, and concentric stacked volume and tone pot.
