If you&going to attempt a thru hike, your feet are the most important things to take care of. After all, every step involves your feet. One of the things that cause issues for many hikers are toe nails that are growing too long. Solution: Carry a nail clipper. Problem: Most are very heavy and I&had cheap ones break on me. Solution: Carry a Victorinox Nail Clip 580 knife. You will get a quality nail clipper that is very sharp and it won&break on you. It gets right in there on your toes, even your pinky and will do a quality cut. Also included with the knife is a nail file, a sharp knife blade, a tweezer (to remove ticks) and a toothpick that you can use over and over. I was carrying a Leatherman Micro and a Victorinox Classic SD Pocket Knife when I hiked. Together they weighed 2.8 oz. Now I&only carry the Victorinox Nail Clip 580. It weighs only 1.3 oz. Cost and Weight Comparisons: Victorinox Nail Clip 580 ($36): 1.3 oz Victorinox Classic SD Pocket Knife ($20): 0.8 oz Leatherman Micra ($35): 1.3 oz These are affiliate links so I make a tiny commission if you buy the product(s) but it won&cost you any more: Other Hiking Products I recommend:
