Antonov An-2 (dubbed in Russian: кукурузник kukuruznik - from кукуруза Kukuruza - "corn", given its use as agricultural aircraft and small height at which it can operate, also known as Annuska) is a Soviet production biplane used especially as a utility aircraft. It is the successor aircraft Polikarpov Po-2 and its NATO code is Colt. It is a biplane light single-engine, very durable and long-lived (longer work). It first flew on 31 August 1947 and was the first plane designed by Antonov bureau. It is said that Antonov aircraft would be used as a model Romanian IAR 39.&Used to transport passengers and can carry 12 people, for parachuting and agricultural works. It is a short takeoff and landing plane (English Short Take-Off & Landing STOL) and can fly at very slow speeds, because it can operate on undeveloped land and some versions have been adapted to extreme climatic conditions, especially for regions cold. It was produced between 1947 - 1992, holding the Guinness record for the longest manufacturing of an aircraft. Were built ca. 18 000 copies at a price per unit of approx. 30 000 USD
