After my car suddenly stopped working one day i found myself having to diagnose the problem. i have a 2012 KIA Soul Base 6spd. the symptoms seemed odd at first.the car was perfect except when i tried to crank it, it would just click. i immediately checked the battery which turned out to be fine. checked ignition and also checked my alarm because it has an anti-theft device. but the fact that the relays where clicking lets me know the anti-theft device is not activated. i did not speculate it was the starter because the car is still young. its only 4 years old and with 76k miles it didn&seem like it was time for a starter to quit. personally i have had cars with 200k and even 317k miles and where till operating with the factory starter. In the end after being told numerous times by numerous sources that it was impossible for it to be the starter due to the age of the car and relatively low mileage (76,000) everyone dismissed the starter as being the culprit. I went ahead and changed the starter and and filmed my process to the best of my abilities. +Tool list+ + 3/8th ratchet + 10mm long socket (bracket, battery terminals, oil sensor) + 12mm socket (for the positive terminal behind starter) + 14mm socket (two main bolts holding the starter up) + 6 inch extension (to reach one of the main bolts which is hard to get with out an extension.) hope you this video helps you and if you have any questions feel free to comment below!
