Poème Symphonique - György Ligeti

Poème Symphonic was composed in 1962 by Hungarian-Austrian composer György Ligeti (1923 - 2006). I&always wanted to perform this piece, but was held back by the instrumentation. Originally, the piece is scored for 100 metronomes. These metronomes were to be activated by a number of performers simultaneously. I own two Wittner mechanical metronomes and I decided to make a scaled-down version of this piece by using 25 recordings of the pair. No editing was done, the metronomes run completely at their own. No speeding up or slowing down. With this method I believe the performance to be faithful to the composers intent.
