Also known as: Super Contra 8. Review: This is a very broken, but playable and beatable pirate game from E.S.C. Co made in 1996. The game directly rips of sprites from Super C, the first stage was ripped off from Mighty Final Fight, the last boss is a direct (and a pretty poor) copy of the boss from the first Contra which appeared in the Waterfall stage. Controls: It is hard to describe, it feels like a tank. The movement is sluggish, the jumping laggs a lot, and the enemies are cheap as it gets. Enemies: Not only they take sometimes SEVERAL HITS to kill (I&talking about basic enemies here), their shoot patterns sometimes unpredictable, and you need quite some luck to pass through some parts of the stages. The absoulte weird part of the game is that, it supposedly claims that it has a Score meter, yet... it never seems to work. Probably a programmer error. I died a lot of times (I haven&touched this game in years), used a lot of Continues here and there (I think you can only Continue 5 times only). Area 4 is a direct rip off again from Super C, and the robot enemies were stolen from a game Shatterhand. Weapons: For some reason, they manage to screw up the spread gun, making it the absolute useless one. The laser and the fire gun are the weapons to go with in this game. Final Verdict: While this is a frustrating and broken game initally, it is still miles better than the other crap that was put out by other pirates (like Super Contra X). The game is esasily...
