Fantastic Frogs and Flamingos
The Bow River in Alberta is on my bucket list. Over the years of fly fishing and talking to guys and gals that I&come across, the Bow is for sure a river I will fish in the future. When I do, like the old saying goes, "when in Rome," I will surely be fishing one of these flies. I have seen pictures of some of the fish they have pulled from this river. Rarely, is there not a big streamer of some sort hanging out of these fishes’ mouths. This fly has it all as far as a well-built streamer. From the classic cone head to the muddler style spun hair front or the rabbit strip down its back, it’s all there. It’s a pretty awesome fly if you ask me. There have been so many variations of the fly have tied over the years. I keep coming back to this one though. It doesn&take 45 minutes to make or use half of the farm to tie it either. You can tie them in whatever color combos you want. I have found olive and black to be my favorites. Around where I fish in the North Idaho region, this is one of my favorite streamers throughout the year.
