Transrotor Orion FMD (Free Magnet Drive) in action.

In the movie you see a Transrotor Orion FMD (Free Magnet Drive) with SME3500 and SME5009 (SME309-modified) tonearms. The cartridges are Jan Allaerts MC1 B (front) and a Benz Micro Glider L2. The phonocables are Furutech AG-12L and Van den Hul D-501 Silver Hybrid. The power supply next to the turntable is a Konstant M3, driving the three motors simultaneously and is switchable between 33 1 / 3 and 45 rpm. Explaining the FMD principle: the base with cover in the lower part of the turntable contains the three motors and the heavy cover with a number of neodymium magnets. In the upper, in the accryl hanging, part is the other part of the magnet drive and a 80 mm. accryl platter on a ceramic bearing. The plateau is only driven by the magnetic field between the lower and upper part, there is a visual space of 2 mm. between both parts.
