Understanding the McElroy® Spider™ 125

This video provides a general overview of the features and benefits of McElroy&Spider™ 125, a socket fusion tool for polypropylene (PPR) or polypropylene-random (PP-R) pipe. The Spider 125 is used on 63mm to 125mm pipes and fittings and is especially useful on difficult socket fusion installations. At only 13 pounds, this tool is engineered to be lightweight, compact and easy to use. It performs remarkably well in overhead, vertical and tight work spaces. The Spider is equipped with a worm-gear drive and parallel link system that brings the pipe and fittings together evenly and under control. The chain-clamp jaws completely encircle the pipe and fittings. The features of the Spider 125 allow a single technician to properly align, heat, fuse and cool the pipe. Because the Spider is non-back drivable, constant pressure is maintained throughout the process.
