Sangean PR-D12 Weather Alert Radio Evening AM

The Sangean PR-D12 AM FM Stereo NOAA Weather Alert Portable Radio is the Best of the Best when it comes to FM Reception. Now on the AM band we discover this receiver has auto tuning to help pull in those faint signals. A USB upgrade jack in the battery compartment may hopefully be useful to the end user who wants to change the factory firmware from home. I employ the use of the Terk Advantage Passive Loop with Excellent results during this Evening AM Band Scan. Overall, I am impressed with its FM performance, and happy with the decent AM reception as well. Sangean designed an interesting radio here. A future revision with a handle, bass/treble control, and 1kHz tuning would be ideal. A simple firmware upgrade could add a few of those options.
