The Long Dark - FPS FIX - Steam Deck OLED 60 fps+

The Long Dark unfortunately runs at 30-40 fps out of the box on the Steam Deck (LCD and OLED too). So we gotta do some tweaking to fully enjoy the winter survival charm! Lucky for you it is quite easy! Lemme show you how: The fix: Step 1. : Before opening the game, go into properties and set the game launch parameters to: "%command% -force-glcore" (copy and paste it without the " " symbols). This unlocks some extra potential for your Steam Deck. Step 2. : Use the WASD plus Mouse controller layout and configure it for yourself afterwards, just how i showed you in the video, I named mine NO LAG layout, just for fun afterwards ;) (It should give you 10 fps plus and should fix the stutters! The official controller layout is bugged for some reason.) Step 3. : Force the latest Proton or Glorious Eggroll version in the compatibility tab. Whichever gives you more FPS. I use the latest Proton myself. Step 4. : You can start the game now. The game runs nice even on Ultra graphics quality. But I suggest running it on medium, for extra frames and stability. Bonus, optional step: Disable controller option and mouse smoothing in-game in the Options - Accesibility menu, for some extra smoothness. You are done! Have fun surviving! :D
