During our time in Malaysia, we&heard a lot about the Perhentian Islands. These islands are known by locals and foreigners as the best beaches in all of Malaysia (which is saying something!). The Perhentian Islands are made up of two main islands - Perhentian Besar (the big island) and Perhentian Kecil (the small island) and tourists can book accommodations on either of these magical destinations. We chose to stay on Perhentian Kecil (the small island) for it&more local feel, and we were really happy with out choice :) You might be wondering what there is to do on an island with no motorized vehicles and very few inhabitants. The answer is not much and also, so much (if you count relaxing)! The island life pace is exactly what we were hoping for, and you can easily do a whole lot of nothing here. Reading a book on Coral Beach, having a cocktail at Long Beach, and strolling the sand at sunset were some of our favourite activities. If you&feeling a bit more active and adventurous, you can easily rent snorkeling gear and go on a snorkel trip or snorkel right off the beach. Our preference is to go scuba diving though, so that&exactly what we did!
