Arabesque Dance Company 1989 Director - Latifa (Dancer / Choreographer - Kamala Almanzar) MC Voice Over - Vic Joachim Smith (Latifa&Dad) Ralph Davis (Latifa&husband) - Cameraman Typically, when we booked a snake charmer/dancer, it was a belly dancer performing with a snake (sometimes a three foot boa and sometimes a nine foot Burmese python). In this case it was Kamala that came out of a basket. I had originally intended this dance to be done as a group performance. But once I had each dancer show us her floorwork, I looked at Kamala and said "you need to do this as a solo". She could perform the smoothest "inchworm" (where you undulate across the floor) that I&seen, since leaving San Francisco&clubs. And her splits weren&just your regular ones, but walkover splits.
