In this video tutorial, I’ll show you how you can create a route using the route planner on your Garmin Montana 700 series GPS devices (700, 710i, 750i). The main difference between a Route and a Track is that a Route will have less point along a path than a track. So depending your scenario, you might want to convert an existing track that would have hundreds of points into a route where it would contains maybe a dozen of points. From the MAIN MENU | ROUTE PLANNER | CREATE ROUTE You can also import routes from Garmin Explore, Basecamp, or via SD card. In this example, I’ll be creating a new route and I will use the map to select the points along the route I want to take. Once done adding points, you can GO BACK to view the new route (ROUTE 001). By TAPPING on the ROUTE you can view the following options: MAP, ELEVATION, REVERSE ROUTE, DELETE, RENAME. Depending on the last type of navigation used on the device (i.e. Direct, Auto or hiking) it will display is that fashion when navigating. The elevation plot is derived from that navigation type, so it might change if you went from direct to off road and the route now snaps onto the road or trail that is on the map. ?️Shop Recommended Garmin Products ?️ ⛺Shop Gear List ⛺ Shop Gear Ideas ?AMAZON IDEA LISTS? - - - - - - - - - - - ?
