They are used for medicine, cosmetics/perfume preparation along with religious rituals in many parts of the world. Some health benefits include antidiabetic antioxidant, anti-inflammatory. It is believed that spice traded started from the Indian Subcontinent to the world. India is home to 70% of the world’s total spice varieties. India, known as the home of spices, boasts a long history of trading with the ancient civilizations of Rome and China. Today, Indian spices are the most sought-after globally, given their exquisite aroma, texture, taste, and medicinal value. India exports both organic and non-organic spices to about 150 countries in the world. Most of the Indian states produce more than 1 spice.
