Recorded today, Chopin&fourth Nocturne in F major, Op.15 No.1. The piece was written in 1830–1832 and dedicated to the composer Ferdinand Hiller. It seems to me a typical romantic pastoral piece, a peaceful rustic scene briefly interrupted by a sudden thunderstorm, after which the sun once more comes out. The painting is "Landscape with Figures" by French painter Théodore Rousseau (1812–1867). No relation, as far as I could find, of the more famous namesake Henri Rousseau. Chris Breemer, piano
