Ford Expedition Error Codes P0171, P0174

This video is a demonstration on how to identify and fix a common part failure in the 2003 Ford Expedition 5.4L Triton Engine that generates the error codes P0171 and P0174. These error codes are synonymous with a vacuum leak somewhere but most commonly associated with the failure of a little PVC elbow that can easily be replaced for anyone capable of doing it themselves. Generally the check engine light or CEL will come on and the vehicle will shutter slightly at idle as the onboard engine computer module or ECM, attempts to compensate with a lean mixture of fuel and air.
