I&always tried to find a way to widen my guitar sound. When playing live with IEMs, I can&stand having my guitar in the center of the stereo image, conflicting with kick, bass, vocals, etc. Over the years I&tried all the tricks inside Fractal Audio units i.e. Enhancers, Delay, and Pitch stuff. Although those did the job, I&always felt they were messing up with phase too much, smearing my tone. I recently got the Mimiq pedal and I can honestly say it&the only device that does the job properly. I have a fairly complex Axe-Fx stereo preset that kept evolving over the years. I run the pedal in one of the loops, after my wah and pitch blocks. The signal comes back in stereo and is then distributed to two amps - left and right, each with its own cab block. It is then merged for some modulation and time-based effects. Placing Mimiq in front of the amps gave me the most natural-sounding results. In the video, I compare the Mimiq to the double-tracked part and two tricks I used to do in the past. 00:00 - Mimiq 00:41 - Stereo Rig w/o Mimiq 01:23 - FAS Enhancer 02:07 - FAS Dual Detune 02:50 - Real Double Tracking 03:31 - Guitar tracks Soloed - back to back Follow me online:
