Scottish step vs Highland: dance style and technique (hop brush beat beat)

This tutorial helps to distinguish between Highland dance technique (SOBHD version) and Scottish ladies&step dance style and technique (as preserved and developed by RSCDS teachers at St. Andrew&Summer schools). Two prominent Highland and step dance teachers, Delma Wilson (SOBHD) and Helen Russell (RSCDS) give some tips on how to dance a hop brush beat beat movement in Highland and Scottish step traditions. Basic positions, counting as well as Helen&and Delma&technical tips on footwork and the upper body are visualized by Shady Glen dancers from Moscow, Russia: Maria Zotko (associate UKA, Highland and National branches), Valentina Burtseva (associate UKA, Scottish step branch) and Anna Kochetkova. Hop brush beat beat movement is performed to the music for following dances: Seann Triubhas (played by David Wilton), Flora MacDonald&Fancy, Come Ashore Jolly Tar, Welcome to Galloway (played by Muriel Johnstone and Keith Smith).
