Pseudobombax ellipticum | Species Detail

Pseudobombax ellipticum is a slow growing, drought tolerant, deciduous tree from Mexico. There are two varieties that produce white or pink flowers. We have both types in the garden (but only photos of one right now), and they can be propagated easily from cuttings. Note the shaving brush flowers, the green intrusions on the trunk, and the deep red new leaves that slowly fade to green.
