Trimmer Repair - Replacing the Guard and Blade (Ryobi Part # 791-683274)

If your string trimmer is showing any of these symptoms; replacing the guard and blade assembly could solve your problem: 1) Guard is cracked or damaged 2) Too much line coming out of trimmer head 3) Engine bogging down 4) Line cutter (blade) is missing or damaged 5) Plastic guard chipped (or cut by line) 6) Line cutter (blade) rivets loose Tools used for this repair/replacement: 1) Phillip’s screwdriver Let’s get started. First, I remove the guard. Now, install the guard. You’ll notice that the bushing housing assembly has this V-portion on the front of it. There’s a V-notch on the guard itself, and those need to be aligned. I’ll slide the guard over the shaft and I’ll secure it with the four screws.
