In this video we are connecting to a Tesla model 3 car for diagnostics on any firmware. For this we need the following: a LOKI diagnostic scanner and a complete cable, slightly modified to connect to the CAN bus of a Tesla model 3. The American-made Tesla Model 3 (which was made until October 2020) doesn’t have a separate connector (port) for direct connection to the CAN bus. And a connection like this is necessary in order to access diagnostic data: alerts and current data received from various control units of the vehicle&systems. In order to obtain this data we need a connection to two CAN buses: vehicle and chassis. The vehicle bus is located in the x930 connector, which is at the end of the center console between the two front seats. Also, there is the power bus in the x930 connector. The chassis bus is located near the right pillar of the vehicle. You need to remove the panel to obtain it. If you connect correctly, LOKI will start working and, when you try to look at errors in the CAN Live window, you will see blocks that report a malfunction of any system and the corresponding errors. This way we can connect to the Tesla Model 3 and check the car for any faults.
