The PB-2000 is a venerable subwoofer that delivers low frequency sound in ways many subs can only dream of... This is very common, and I started this whole project around subwoofers that bucked this trend. The PB-2000 is an excellent example of subwoofers that I like. As I touched on in the review, going factory direct means you can take advantage of the one year trade up policy. Going through a dealer might not get the full Bill of Rights. The links in this description are factory direct, and the way a person could look at it is a "down payment" of sorts on a heavier duty subwoofer, while still being able to enjoy the PB-2000&in the mean time. That&if you really wanted more, you might not need it. Certainly, the PB-16 Ultras are outstanding, easily the best bass I&ever heard, period. The PB-2000&are definitely in the same ball park, they are "big boy" subs, and I could easily enjoy them for the rest of my subwoofing days and not feel any disappointment. I mention them being a great entry point, but they can also be a great end point. There are subwoofers that cost twice as much or more that won&give you this kind of satisfaction or depth.
