Volkswagen Golf MK2 Build Episode 12: Foglight Install

In this video, I show you guys how I installed the oem MK2 foglights my uncle gave me. Here are the steps for a CE2 car: 1. Remove front bumper 2. Use dremel tool to cut out foglight areas 3. Mount foglights 4. Combine left and right foglight power wires and ground wires 5. Disconnect battery. 6. Ground wire can go to any chassis ground or the negative battery terminal 7. Power wire goes through the firewall and is pinned to the right headlight (A2 yellow) connector behind the fusebox, pin 8. 8. Foglight switch wiring to rear defrost switch connector (P blue) is done as follows: pin 1 goes to to pin + on the foglight switch. (there should not be a wire there if you are using a rear defrost switch plug, so add one. make sure its a heaver gauge, like 12ga.) pin 4 goes to pin 83A on the foglight switch (if using defrost switch plug, the black/yellow wire) pin 6 goes to 83B (white/green wire on defrost plug) pin 8 goes to 31 (brown wire) pin 9 goes to 58B (gray/blue) 9. Install foglight switch to dashboard 10. Make sure relay 53 is installed in 4th slot from bottom left of fusebox. Fuse should also be intact. Hope this helps!
