Extrema Ratio DMP Full Field Review Here I take my Extrema Ratio DMP out into the mountains for several days of hiking and camping to determine, can this knife, the DMP designed for military applications be of use in the wilds? I have written at length about the usefulness of some military purposed blades for civilian usage. Designed primarily for military carry on waist with a highly adjustable elasticised leg loop and anti rattle Nylon scabbard, the Extrema Ratio can be easily dissembled without tools for thorough cleaning. The color range is good too: HCS, Wolf Grey, Desert and Ranger green (this model). I&spoken at length about their camouflage colours and the Ranger green, if you put it down in green foliage you will lose it in the bush LOL. If you have to beat upon it, it can handle it although I don&recommend doing this to any knife. The uncoated N690 is easy to clean and keep hygienic. The knife displays good balance. The DMP also comes in anti reflection Mil Spec black oxide coating. At approx 5&in length, the Extrema Ratio DMP is certainly not too large to carry into the mountains hiking. Being a full flat ground drop point can only make it suitable for multi-tasking, no surprise as the drop point since it&popularity began from Bob Loveless (although not per se invented by him) has been the focus of many a knife manufacturer.
